Engineering Managers at MacPaw lead the engineering teams by planning and managing the development processes to deliver quality product solutions. They also constantly work on strengthening the team`s technological expertise through individual and teamwork.

As an Engineering Manager, you will join a new product in the MacPaw ecosystem which aims to bring a new vision on the software development market. You will join Desktop client team or Framework & Activation team: we are actively growing, so have 2 open roles!

In this role, you will:
  • Plan and agree on engineering activities, and tasks/project priorities, approve it with PM and Senior Engineering Manager
  • Manage team work by planning and prioritizing engineering backlog, clarifying tasks, monitoring progress and eliminating blockers aimed to establish effective efforts coordination and delivery
  • Identify and cope with cross-team/functional dependencies and risks with other teams and Services to eliminate blockers in value delivery process
  • Maintain proper team performance and provide team guidance, identify skill gaps and support employees' professional development
  • Keep team processes effective and reasonable in order to support team cooperation and delivery
  • Responsible for implementation and integration of technical solutions, new approaches or development processes on a team level aligned with Company/Product approaches, incorporating security requirements and actively driving security into the product stream development life cycle
  • Participate in Product-wide/Company-wide engineering projects aimed to improve business value and/or development and delivery
  • Own teams engineering metrics (DX) and seek to improve them
  • Conduct regular operational processes for Team employees: hiring, time-off approval, training, development and salary review, dismissal and others aligned with company practices and policies
Skills you need to bring:
  • Background of working as an Engineering Manager or position that correlates with our EM responsibilities that are described above
  • Experience in guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution of work
  • Experience of working with billing, payment side of the product or finance domain
  • Proven track record of working with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Upper-Intermediate English

As a plus:
  • PHP experience
  • Experience of working with 3d-party vendors
