A bit more about the team:

You will join an existing cross-functional team. We each have our area of expertise, but our contribution to the product’s growth reaches far beyond our typical specialties. With one more mature Back-end Software Engineer, you will influence everything related to infrastructure stability at Setapp. 

    In this role, you will:

    • Analyze (how to do?) and validate (can be done?) technical solutions for business problems/ideas/needs. Suggest alternatives with reasoning about their pros and cons
    • Decompose and estimate validated technical solutions for business problems/ideas/needs into technical tasks
    • Contribute to the product with ideas, features, and improvements
    • Suggest architectural solutions and/or development tools to implement a technical task
    • Implement technical solutions to cover all acceptance criteria and other team agreements (e.g tech documentation, tests, etc.)
    • React on issues and failures by investigating and fixing them according to project tasks priorities
    • Suggest technical solutions for increasing product/service stability and performance if needed
    • Communicate with the team and PM to clarify implementation details and edge cases, specify input or missing data and possible use-cases/flows
    • Communicate with other streams and/or teams to successfully implement a task and make constructive collaborations if needed
    • Present the results of the teamwork if neededHelp customer support to resolve user issues, conduct technical communication with customers if needed

    Skills you’ll need to bring:

    • Strong knowledge of OOP, Design Patterns, understanding of SOLID principles and their usage
    • At least 3 years of development experience with PHP
    • Basic understanding of distributed systems and patterns
    • Experience with Laravel and/or Symfony frameworks
    • Experience with one of RDBMS (we use PostgreSQL)
    • Experience with message queues (we use RabbitMQ)
    • At least an Intermediate level of English

    As a Plus:

    • Experience with cloud computing (AWS)
    • Experience with containers (Docker) or K8s
    • Understanding of CI/CD, practical experience
    • Practical distributed systems experience
