MacPaw implements a new approach
within the company, inspiring the employees to demonstrate creativity and innovation in side projects. Everyone is now granted 10% of their time to be spent on side projects. There is encouragement for new ideas and backing for creativity among the employees. This approach gave birth to MacPaw Labs
, a unique space where anyone from designers to copywriters can share their ideas and create their own projects.
MacPaw employees dared to try with their newfound projects, which led to the release of the first MacPaw Labs tvOS apps, which are available this fall:
1. Open the World, a countries and capitals quiz game: jump through the toughest questions and see how well you know the whole world, not just your country.
2. Opti, eye care on your Apple TV: an app that has exercises for relaxing, testing, and training your eyes.
3. GIFtv, addictive and endless gif reel with background music from iTunes’ popular charts.
