When you simply drag apps to the Trash, you remove only the .app file, while many applications generate service data that is stored in other places too. CleanMyMac 3 can find and remove these files to free up more space on your hard drive.
To make things easier, we created a monitor that reminds you about the possibility of complete uninstallation of apps. In particular, every time you move an app to the Trash folder, CleanMyMac 3 Menu offers you to uninstall the app with all related files.
If you don't get a corresponding notification, make sure CleanMyMac 3 Menu is running and check if the feature is enabled by doing this:
- Open CleanMyMac 3 Menu and click on the gear icon in its the lower right corner.
- Choose the Preferences option.
- On the CleanMyMac 3 Menu tab, select the "Offer to correctly uninstall applications" checkbox.
Now, CleanMyMac 3 will always prompt you correct uninstallation of an app when you move it to the Trash.
