CleanMyMac 3 works on 10.8 and later. There are five OSes that can upgrade to CleanMyMac 3: Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8), Mavericks (OS X 10.9), Yosemite (10.10), El Capitan (10.11), and macOS Sierra (10.12). Sierra is newer, has more features, and is free and we highly suggest update your Mac to macOS 10.12.
You’ll need 2 GB of RAM (preferably 4 GB), 8 GB of free disk space on drive, and one of the following Macs:

When you install your new OS, you’ll have to restart your Mac. So, be sure to add this page as a bookmark before downloading and installing your new OS. Find your browser below.
Add a bookmark in Safari
Press Cmd+D, and then click “Add.” To load this page, click the menu button next two the two arrows on the left of the address bar and then select “Update your Mac OS for CleanMyMac 3 | MacPaw” from the menu that opens to the left.

Click the star on the right side of the address bar, or just press Cmd+D, and then click “Done.” To load the page, click “Bookmarks” in the menu bar, and select “Update your Mac OS for CleanMyMac 3 | MacPaw.”

Press Cmd+D, and then click “Done.” To load the page, click “Bookmarks” in the menu bar, and select “Update your Mac OS for CleanMyMac 3 | MacPaw.”
Now that you’ve bookmarked this page, download macOS Sierra from the App Store, follow the instructions, and then reboot your Mac.
