What’s new in CleanMyMac 3

We are happy to announce the completion and release of an entirely new version of CleanMyMac. The newest version, CleanMyMac 3 has been updated and improved to further optimize Macs and enhance the quality of cleaning. A lot has been added to the new version of CleanMyMac, but some new key features to CleanMyMac 3 are:

Smart Cleanup (not new but improved!)

This module scans according to CleanMyMac 3’s growing intelligent safety database; or the list of items rules and exceptions CleanMyMac uses to clean safely. The database allows CleanMyMac to safely and accurately scan the system, iTunes, Mail, iPhoto, Trash bins, and user folders for junk.

Mail Attachments

Scans the Mail application for locally stored downloads and attachments, and then lets you clean them out.

iTunes Junk

A cleaning module that finds and cleans up outdated device backups, old software updates, broken downloads, and copies of iOS apps locally stored on your Mac. Delete broken downloads, old iOS device backups, and more.

A new feature of CleanMyMac 3 that lets users monitor activity processes, RAM usage, battery charge cycles, and Mac health notifications.

Health Alerts

Notifications that pop up, based on S.M.A.R.T criteria. The S.M.A.R.T system is composed of a variety of hardware sensors help to identify the health of your Mac. When your Mac’s hardware health has issues, Health Alerts offers guidance on how to approach and resolve them.

CleanMyMac Menu

This menu is a lightweight tool bar access point to CleanMyMac 3, which displays the performance of the Mac system, alerts you if there are issues with your Mac’s health, and lets you perform many CleanMyMac 3 operations without needing to launch the app itself.

This module will run scripts that help your Mac run more smoothly. A module with a myriad of optimization tasks, including repairing disk permissions verifying your startup disk, rebuilding the Launch Services Database, and reindexing spotlight and the mail database.
