First, check to make sure that you entered your activation number correctly — maybe you’ve accidentally copy & pasted it with spaces or other invisible symbols. If you lost, or are unable to find your Activation Number in your email inbox, you can take advantage of our License Retrieval feature.
If that doesn’t help, please contact us via this form or call us at +1-(8775)-MACPAW at your convenience.
If you don’t have multiple licenses, you can only activate one copy of CleanMyMac 2 with your activation number. If you wish to purchase multiple license, see our answer below. In order to activate your copy on a different Mac, please uninstall CleanMyMac 2 and contact our Customer Support, so that they can deactivate your CleanMyMac 2 license on your current Mac. Only after that, install CleanMyMac 2 on the Mac of your choosing. Now, you can activate your newly installed CleanMyMac 2 with your original activation number.
Yes, a single license of CleanMyMac 2 can be used on a single Mac by all its users.
Yes. Go to the Uninstaller module and search for the app that works improperly. Click it and hit the Application Reset button. That will remove the preferences that may have caused the problem with the performance of the app.
If that doesn’t help, you can try to uninstall the application using the same module and then reinstall it. If this doesn’t help, we advise you to contact the developer of the app.
Yes. Go to the System Cleanup module, click Detailed Results, and then click on Language Files at the bottom of the middle column list. On the right, you’ll find a list of localizations grouped by languages. There you can deselect needed languages or localizations to keep them intact.
Another way to edit the list of languages that should be cleaned is by proceeding to CleanMyMac 2 > Preferences menu and select the General tab. There, at the bottom, you can edit the list of localizations. Add languages to the list that CleanMyMac 2 should not remove during a Full Scan.
If you like keeping your Mac up-to-date and perform software updates regularly, some of the apps you have had installed may become incompatible with your current configuration. In case you haven’t yet disposed of these applications, CleanMyMac 2 will find and list them, so that you can easily erase them.
It’s more than likely that you just need to restart your Mac. Restarting your Mac will trigger your apps to begin generating new caches, which will increase the performance of your apps.
If you don’t know whether a particular extension is safe for removal, you can disable it first to see what it does to your Mac. Please refer to our Knowledge Base for more detailed instructions.
The iPhoto Cleanup module searches your iPhoto library for invisible versions of files that were automatically or manually modified. For instance, if you imported a photo from your camera and then rotated and cropped it, iPhoto will keep an unrotated, uncropped copy of it as a backup. You can remove these unnecessary copies to significantly decrease the size of your iPhoto library!
Currently iPhoto Cleanup works only with iPhoto '11 (version 9+).
CleanMyMac 2 requires OS X 10.7 or higher and around 28.8 MB of free space to operate. If you haven’t upgraded your Mac to OS X Mavericks, Lion or Mountain Lion, then you should take a look at CleanMyMac Classic!
