If you build your own applications or online services, chances are that you’ve installed lots of tools to test out which ones can help you develop more efficiently or expand more quickly. One of the areas you may have investigated is the provision of an application programming interface (API) for clients so that they can plug directly into your tools from their own systems. There are several ways to do that, one of which is to use an API platform like Postman to help create APIs. If you’ve tried out Postman and decided it’s no longer for you, or you just don’t use it anymore, you should uninstall it to free up space. In this article, we’ll show you how to uninstall Postman on your Mac.
What is Postman?
Postman is an API platform — a tool for creating, managing, and publishing APIs. It has an API repository that allows users to store, catalog, and collaborate on API artifacts in one place. It has several tools that allow users to design, test, and document APIs and then share them and make them discoverable. Postman has four different types of workspace — personal, team, partner, and public — to make it easy to collaborate on the development of APIs. It integrates with lots of other tools and is extensible through its own API.
Is Postman safe?
Yes. Postman is used by some of the biggest companies in the world, such as WhatsApp Business, Paypal, Siemens, and TotalEnergies.
Why uninstall Postman?
The main reason for uninstalling Postman is that you no longer use it. If that’s the case, uninstalling it will free up space and prevent potential future conflicts with other software on your Mac. It’s also good practice from a security point of view to uninstall applications you no longer use. If you don’t use an application, you are less likely to keep it updated. And having old versions of software installed on your Mac increases the risk of you inadvertently downloading malware because malware distributors use fake updates as a way of distributing their malicious files.
