#CleanMyCity project became Content Marketing Awards finalist

You already know that here at MacPaw, we’re passionate about cleaning, both your Mac and our planet. That’s why we were so happy to find out that our “Revenge of the Junk” campaign became a finalist in the “Best Motivational Video or Video Series” category of the Content Marketing Awards!

What is the Content Marketing Award about?

The Content Marketing Awards is the largest international content marketing awards program held by the Content Marketing Institute. The Content Marketing Awards was launched in 2004, making it the longest-running awards program in the world.

This year, the independent judges reviewed hundreds of content marketing programs in more than 80 categories to recognize and award the most inspiring, innovative, and successful ideas.

AT&T, Salesforce, Verizon, Cisco are among other finalists. To see the full list of winners in all categories, click here.

The revenge of the junk

This award gave us another sign that the trash problem shouldn't be ignored. At MacPaw, we care not only about digital junk but also about the physical one that is dumped carelessly on the streets.

If you ignore waste, it will come after you making species disappear, melting glaciers and polluting our oceans. That’s what we had in mind starting the #CleanMyCity project and creating Junkman.

The results of the Junkman prank were impressive: the video went viral, reaching over 8M views across YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, and other platforms; 14 companies joined the challenge and cleaned more than 17 640 kg of junk.

We are proud of everyone who contributed and made our city streets cleaner. Kudos to BangBang Family, a production company that made this video possible.

Join the challenge to fight junk together and save our planet!
