Allow background items

(Updated: )

If you install CleanMyMac for the first time, you likely won't need to allow background items manually. After installation, you'll see a notification about background items being added—this means they've been installed, allowed, and will run automatically whenever you start your Mac or log in.

CleanMyMac also monitors the status of its background items and notifies if you need to allow them. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In the upper-left corner of your screen, click the Apple menu  and choose System Settings.

  2. In the sidebar, click General, then click Login Items & Extensions.

  3. In the Allow in the Background list, turn on all items related to CleanMyMac.

Done—now CleanMyMac will work at its best.
