A place where good deeds never end

#MacPawCares is how we give back to the community. Since its launch in 2018, we have helped to shape a better world in many ways: from boosting Ukraine’s sustainability effort, helping people in need, and saving animals to fostering local tech talent, promoting diversity, and so much more.

Since February 24, 2022 – when russia launched its full-scale invasion of our home – we have focused on helping those who defend us and people affected by the invasion with the MacPaw Foundation.

Good deeds, on a timeline

  • 2009- 2017

For MacPaw’s 10th anniversary, we decided it was time to find a home for our good deeds. That’s how #MacPawCares was born. Around the same time, we rolled out Sortuy, a free all-Ukrainian app for waste recycling.

  • 2018

Things were moving wild and fast in our first years. But we kept doing all sorts of stuff to give back to the community: from supporting education programs to donating to animal shelters.

  • 2019

Because of the team's enthusiasm for tackling social issues, the company decided
to expand #MacPawCares into
a full-fledged initiative to help the community, city, country
and the environment. Since then, #MacPawCares has successfully implemented over 30 projects.

  • 2020

Besides our #MacPawCares initiatives, corporate volunteering at MacPaw transformed into regular activities. For instance, 2 times per year, we organize Donor Day at the office. Macpawians could donate their blood and save someone's life. Also, the Christmas Elves initiative became a beloved tradition. Every year we grant more than 200 kids wishes.

  • 2021

In 2021, #MacPawCares initiatives reached…Antarctica! We supported the Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station and donated a satellite antenna for improving the internet at the Base. It took us
a year to deliver the antenna
to the station, but the result
paid off.

  • 2022

Since the full-scale russian invasion onset on February 24, 2022, MacPaw CSR programs have shifted its focus. Our corporate charitable fund MacPaw Foundation went public and we began to provide non-lethal assistance for those who protect us. We were extremely touched when our customers supported our foundation with their donations.

  • 2023

MacPaw Foundation continues to support Ukrainians who suffered from russian aggression. Furthermore, we resumed our #MacPawCares activities with
a focus on inclusivity and educational projects

Standing up for Ukraine

On February 24, 2022, russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then, the enemy has been shelling and bombing our cities with missiles, killing civilians every single day. We have shifted our focus since then to help protect our homeland and save the people of Ukraine from an illegal war of extermination.

What we've done so far:
  • Supported our teams and their families
  • Launched TogetherApp to monitor the safety of our teammates in real-time
  • Donated to Ukrainian volunteers and nonprofits saving people’s lives
  • Made MacPaw’s ClearVPN app free for all Ukrainians and non-profits, activists, and journalists covering the Russian invasion of Ukraine or the issues of internet censorship
  • Made MacPaw’s CleanMyMac X free for all journalists covering the war
  • Launched SpyBuster, an app that counters russia’s cyberwarfare and protects everyone’s devices from russia-affiliated software.

Due to our commitment to the declared total resistance, we shifted our focus. MacPaw Foundation intends to help save the lives of Ukrainian defenders and provide relief to as many civilians as possible.

Tech & Science

We can't imagine modern life without technology. That's the field our company works in and that's also the field we want to do good in. Few things give us greater inspiration than helping fellow scholars and promoting scientific achievements.

With our first Tech & Science project, we reached far to provide support for the researchers at the Vernadsky Research Base, Ukraine's station in Antarctica. This turned into a diverse and fruitful cooperation that continues to this day.

Two more of our projects focused on supporting scientists. We sponsored a First Robotic Competition team NeuraBl!nk #7851. This group of students was the first one to represent Ukraine at a major international robotics event. We also helped to produce a series of documentaries about female scientists working in different fields, so that girls who wish to pursue scientific careers can find their role models.

Last but not least, we partnered with Kunsht, a popular science magazine, to bring cybersecurity and data protection closer to the public.
