Inspiring others with good deedsVisit Website
#MacPawCares is how we give back to the community. Since its launch in 2018, we have helped to shape a better world in many ways: from boosting Ukraine’s sustainability effort, helping people in need, and saving animals to fostering local tech talent, promoting diversity, and so much more.
Since February 24, 2022 – when russia launched its full-scale invasion of our home – we have focused on helping those who defend us and people affected by the invasion with the MacPaw Foundation.

For MacPaw’s 10th anniversary, we decided it was time to find a home for our good deeds. That’s how #MacPawCares was born. Around the same time, we rolled out Sortuy, a free all-Ukrainian app for waste recycling.
Things were moving wild and fast in our first years. But we kept doing all sorts of stuff to give back to the community: from supporting education programs to donating to animal shelters.
Because of the team's enthusiasm for tackling social issues, the company decided to expand #MacPawCares into a full-fledged initiative to help the community, city, country and the environment. Since then, #MacPawCares has successfully implemented over 30 projects.
Besides our #MacPawCares initiatives, corporate volunteering at MacPaw transformed into regular activities. For instance, 2 times per year, we organize Donor Day at the office. Macpawians could donate their blood and save someone's life. Also, the Christmas Elves initiative became a beloved tradition. Every year we grant more than 200 kids wishes.
In 2021, #MacPawCares initiatives reached…Antarctica! We supported the Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station and donated a satellite antenna for improving the internet at the Base. It took us a year to deliver the antenna to the station, but the result paid off.
Since the full-scale russian invasion onset on February 24, 2022, MacPaw CSR programs have shifted its focus. Our corporate charitable fund MacPaw Foundation went public and we began to provide non-lethal assistance for those who protect us. We were extremely touched when our customers supported our foundation with their donations.
MacPaw Foundation continues to support Ukrainians who suffered from russian aggression. Furthermore, we resumed our #MacPawCares activities with a focus on inclusivity and educational projects
On February 24, 2022, russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then, the enemy has been shelling and bombing our cities with missiles, killing civilians every single day. We have shifted our focus since then to help protect our homeland and save the people of Ukraine from an illegal war of extermination.
Due to our commitment to the declared total resistance, we shifted our focus. MacPaw Foundation intends to help save the lives of Ukrainian defenders and provide relief to as many civilians as possible.About MacPaw Foundation
We can't imagine modern life without technology. That's the field our company works in and that's also the field we want to do good in. Few things give us greater inspiration than helping fellow scholars and promoting scientific achievements.
With our first Tech & Science project, we reached far to provide support for the researchers at the Vernadsky Research Base, Ukraine's station in Antarctica. This turned into a diverse and fruitful cooperation that continues to this day.
Two more of our projects focused on supporting scientists. We sponsored a First Robotic Competition team NeuraBl!nk #7851. This group of students was the first one to represent Ukraine at a major international robotics event. We also helped to produce a series of documentaries about female scientists working in different fields, so that girls who wish to pursue scientific careers can find their role models.
Last but not least, we partnered with Kunsht, a popular science magazine, to bring cybersecurity and data protection closer to the public.
It's easy to see we're deeply in love with green just by taking a look at the photos from our Kyiv office. ut our love for green goes far beyond the color itself.
We've done numerous projects focusing on sustainability and green transition. In 2018, we launched the Sortui app that helped Ukrainians sort their waste properly and find recycling stations in their towns.
We also went on a series of #CleanMyCity raids cleaning the streets of Kyiv. The number shows it all: 17,640 kg of litter were removed by #CleanMyCity campaigns, with 14 companies joining the challenge. To promote our cleanup, we produced the Junkman movie. That was fun!
Additionally, we go on regular tree-planting get-togethers and have bought a huge trash compactor for the NoWaste Recycling Station in Kyiv.
Though our products are available and recognized worldwide, we are proud to be a Ukrainian company. We love our country and do our best to help it flourish and prosper.
MacPaw was founded in 2008. We've seen firsthand many challenges the country had to face. And we were ready to lend a helping hand.
In times of the pandemic, we provided people in need with groceries and supplied protection gear for the medics. When the wildfires broke out in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, we brought supplies and equipment to the firefighters. And during blackouts, we set up a tent near our office where everyone could charge their devices and enjoy a warm beverage. Many of our fellow macpawians became donors at the blood drives we regularly hold in our office.
Many other Ukrainian initiatives are doing good things to help others. And we want more people to know about them. That's why we partnered with the Ukrainer to produce 10 videos about charities, NGOs, and CSR projects.
And of course, we happily assist innovative projects like the Promprylad.Renovation — a transformation of an old plant into a modern coworking space and a center for art and business support.
As a company, we value every client and every team member working alongside us. And we want to build a society where this principle extends to all people. That's why we work with inclusion in mind, both when designing our premises and when supporting initiatives that dedicate their efforts to this topic.
Dostupno.UA is one such initiative and our long-time partner. We provide financial and organizational support for their events and even hold some of them at our MacPaw Space. These events promote accessibility and normalize disability, and we are glad to aid with such important tasks.
Another project we helped launch was an accessible taxi service for wheelchair users in Kyiv and its suburbs. Freedom of movement can bring such a difference into a person's life! And we hope that this project together with many other equally important ones can trigger a big change both in our streets and in our minds.
Supporting and educating the next generation is one of the most important tasks for all the adults on the planet. We wish that every child has the opportunity to explore the world and freely choose their areas of interest. It is the only way to grow confident and dedicated professionals.
This wish started the HelloCode initiative — a series of computer science lessons at the schools we graduated from. This is a way to get kids acquainted with programming, design, and other areas in a fun and practice-based way.
Education does not end with the first diploma. We are strong believers in life-long learning. That's something we not only practice ourselves but also encourage in others. Among other things — by supporting projects like the Ukrainian Emerging Leaders Program, a 10-month Stanford course for policy-makers, legal professionals, and civil society leaders. We helped fund scholarships for the program participants in order to bring the Stanford expertise into the country and promote change from within.
We believe that helping the ones in need is a cornerstone of a successful society. That's why such projects are so important to us. Our long-time partner, Enjoying Live Foundation, dedicates its work to helping the elderly. We supported their charitable projects, such as providing hot lunches or groceries and organizing English and computer courses for senior citizens.
None of our projects would be possible without the initiative and passion of our fellow macpawians. They provide ideas, volunteer their time, and aid the foundation in every possible way. Which sometimes includes putting on elf hats and working at Santa's workshop to bring some magic and joy to the kids. Every year we prepare holiday gifts for children facing difficult circumstances, whether it is an illness or the loss of a family member in the war.
Of course, gifts are not the only way to help the children. In the past, we collected clothes for the kids at the Tsybli orphanage, organized burnout prevention training for its staff, and purchased necessary equipment for a children's hospital.
Ukraine is our beloved home country, and our city of Kyiv is its heart! Beautiful and lively, it's been home for our company for many years. And we want everyone to see the capital through our loving eyes.
Just like our homes need renovation from time to time, so do the cities we live in. And we are happy to help with supporting projects and improving the day-to-day lives of Kyiv residents.
One such project was lighting up an old gothic cathedral right across the road from our office. We installed the illumination system on the roof of our building. Now, whenever it gets dark, everyone can see this beautiful church that used to often be overlooked before.
Another thing we love doing is facilitating improvements in the city's green areas to make them more enjoyable for the public. We supported the renovation of the Fomin Botanical Gardens. We also provided a new lawn and some lights to the Samosad public park to make it cozy both during the day and at night.
Animals have been human's friends and companions for centuries. They help us through tough times as well as share our joys. And while compassion for fellow humans is important, the animals often need it more, as they can't ask for help.
We support organizations working for the good of the animals. We provide gear for the Kyiv Animal Rescue Group, who carry out great and small rescue operations. We support animal shelters — both financially and by providing volunteer work. And we help spay and neuter homeless animals to humanely control their population.
Of course, we hope that as many animals as possible end up with loving families in their forever homes. To make it possible, we helped open a cat adoption center in Kyiv and sponsored the Nevermind the Breed campaign, battling stereotypes on dog adoption.
