Job Description Icon

We’re looking for a proactive, independent Senior QA Engineer to help build and evolve the core payment infrastructure that powers MacPaw products.

You will join the team that owns everything connected to purchases, billing, subscriptions, and revenue processing. Our long-term goal is to centralize all payments across the company — meaning every purchase, renewal, and cancellation will run through solutions built by this team.

Right now, the team is developing a brand-new checkout flow for MacPaw products — and you’ll play a key role in testing and scaling it further. This includes deep work with automation, improving technical testing tools and frameworks, and shaping the strategy around how we deliver high-quality payments at speed.

If you want to work on high-impact flows that directly influence business revenue, have strong ownership over tools and processes, and help define modern QA standards at MacPaw — we’d love to hear from you!

In this role, you will:
  • Test and support the new checkout flow that powers purchases across products
  • Build and scale automation for end-to-end payment flows — across platforms and environments
  • Investigate and improve existing testing flows, identifying gaps and proposing enhancements
  • Design, plan, and maintain test activities across the full SDLC
  • Suggest improvements to the testing framework and tools
  • Collaborate closely with multiple product teams and engineering managers
  • Work with external payment providers
  • Analyze new requirements, UX, edge cases, and platform specifics
  • Maintain and evolve automated test documentation and coverage

Skills you’ll need to bring:
  • Strong experience with test automation (JavaScript / TypeScript is a must)
  • Ability to design and maintain automation frameworks — not just use them
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid manual testing background
  • Experience testing web apps end-to-end (UI, API, integration)
  • Strong analytical mindset and deep understanding of browser internals, HTTP/HTTPS, cookies, caching
  • Ability to structure testing processes at team or product level
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, checklists, and reports
  • Ability to work across many product teams and contexts simultaneously
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and prioritizing independently
  • Intermediate English or higher

As a plus:
  • Experience with Playwright
  • Experience with macOS debugging or diagnostics knowledge
  • Experience with performance or load testing
