Review memory-intensive apps

(Updated: )

Memory-intensive apps are those consuming the most RAM. Extensive RAM consumption can lead to degraded performance of your Mac. CleanMyMac lets you identify, review, and close such apps to free up valuable resources.

To view the most memory-intensive apps:

  1. Open the CleanMyMac Menu and click Memory.

The Top Consumers list at the bottom of the detailed menu shows app process names and their memory consumption. Apps that use over 20% of total RAM are highlighted in yellow.

  2. To close an app and free up resources, hover over it and click Quit.

The list updates every second, but when you hover over it, data stops updating, making it easier for you to close apps.
