CleanMyMac engineers cooperate with users closely to be ahead of the ever-changing maleficent apps and work on unusual cases as a team. In particular, that's how we deal with previously unknown threats.

Suspicious file alert

Though hard to spot, even the newest malware can be uncovered by its questionable behavior and abnormal activities on a device. That's why, if CleanMyMac notices a previously unknown but suspicious executable file, you may be alerted to the possibility of a malware attack.

In this case, you're prompted to submit the suspect for thorough research to our malware analysts. It is a safe, anonymous, and honorable act.

Note

CleanMyMac doesn't collect any personal data like docs, photos, or videos. Its primary focus is untrustworthy executable files.

Your contribution to anti-malware activities

If the wicked nature of the file is proven, we add it to the Malware Database, and CleanMyMac starts neutralizing this threat on all infected Macs, including yours. That's how your contribution helps millions of CleanMyMac users protect their computers.

You're free to ignore the alert, but please mind the safety of your Mac and remember you can always change your decision with this form.

Just to be safe: if your Mac has any disturbing malware-like symptoms, but CleanMyMac keeps silent, read this article or notify our Support Team.
