Slack integration

(Updated: )

What the Slack integration enables

  • Chat with Leebry directly in Slack via DMs.

  • Use Leebry as an AI assistant inside any Slack workspace your organization connects.

  • Receive answers backed by your organization's knowledge base, without leaving Slack.

Audience

  • Admins: Connect Slack at the organization level by installing the Leebry Slack app to a specific workspace.

  • End users: Talk to the Leebry bot in Slack, no extra authorization required once your admin has installed it.

Prerequisites

Admins

  • Leebry Web admin access to Integrations settings

  • A Slack account with permission to install apps into the target workspace

End users

  • Your organization has the Slack integration connected by an admin

  • You belong to the Slack workspace where Leebry is installed

Admin guide

Connecting the integration

  1. Open the Integration tab in the Leebry Admin page.

  2. Find Slack and select Connect.

You'll be redirected to Slack's authorization page.

  3. From the Workspace dropdown, pick the workspace where you want to install Leebry.

The dropdown lists every workspace your Slack account is currently signed into. If the target workspace isn't there, select Add another workspace to sign in and then choose it.

  4. Review the requested permissions and select Allow.

  5. On success, you're redirected back to Leebry. Slack appears in the list of connected integrations.

Important

Only one Slack workspace can be connected in Leebry. Connecting a new workspace replaces the previous one.

Deleting the integration

  1. Open the Integration tab in the Leebry Admin page.

  2. Click the three dots button next to Slack and then Delete.

The integration is removed from Leebry, while the app is uninstalled from the Slack workspace.

End-user guide

Once your admin has connected the integration:

  1. Open Slack and find the Leebry bot in your sidebar (under Apps).

If it doesn't appear there, search for it under More > Tools > Apps.

  2. Send a message to the bot to start a conversation.

  3. Ask questions in natural language. Leebry replies with answers sourced from your organization's knowledge base.

Security and permissions

  • Leebry's Slack bot uses an organization-scoped bot token issued by Slack at install time.

  • Bot credentials are stored encrypted at rest and refreshed automatically via Slack's token rotation.

  • Removing the integration in Leebry uninstalls the app from Slack and revokes its access token.
