Change app security status

(Updated: )

When a member of your Organization enrolls their Mac (that is, installs the desktop app and signs in to their account), CleanMyMac Business automatically registers all installed apps and adds their details to the Admin Dashboard. If an app was already registered, its details and statistics (number of installations, devices where the app is installed, frequency of use, and so on) will be updated where necessary.

Each app in your Organization has a security status to help track whether it meets your security standards and policies, and if it's safe to use the app on the devices or not.

Apps can have one of the following security statuses:

  • Authorized: Use this status for apps that have successfully completed the review process and are considered safe for use on your Organization members' devices.

  • Needs Review: Use this status to mark apps that haven't been reviewed for security yet. It's the default status when an app is first registered within CleanMyMac Business.

  • Unwanted: Assign this status to apps that have failed critical risk checks and may pose a security threat or interfere with user data.
