Set up Jamf integration
(Updated: )Integrating Jamf Pro with CleanMyMac Business lets Owners and Admins sync and view Jamf-managed device data in the Admin Dashboard, providing insights into configuration profiles, applied policies, and execution results—essential for troubleshooting and maintaining compliance.
To set up the integration, you first need to create an API role and an API client in your Jamf Pro instance, and then configure the integration for your CleanMyMac Business Organization in the Admin Dashboard.
Follow these steps:
Sign in to your Jamf Pro Dashboard, then go to Settings.
In Settings, go to the System tab, then find and click API roles and clients.
On the API Roles tab, click New in the upper-right corner to start creating an API role.
- Provide a descriptive name for the role.
- Assign necessary privileges to be used by Jamf Pro entities.
Important
To enable the integration, you must include the Read Computers privilege in addition to any other privileges you assign.
Click Save in the lower-right corner to create the role.
NoteFor more details about API roles, refer to the Jamf Pro Documentation.
On the API Clients tab, click New in the upper-right corner to start creating an API client.
- Provide a descriptive name for the client.
- Assign the necessary API roles, including the one you just created.
- Set the access token lifetime as needed.
Click Save in the lower-right corner to create the client.
NoteFor more details about API clients, refer to the Jamf Pro Documentation.
Open the newly created API client and copy the Client ID and Client secret—you'll need them to establish the connection in CleanMyMac Business Admin Dashboard.
Sign in to your Owner or Admin account in the CleanMyMac Business Admin Dashboard.
Go to Jamf Integration, then click Set up Integration.
In the dialog that opens, enter:
- Your Jamf Pro instance URL address
- The Client ID and Client secret you copied from Jamf Pro earlier
Click Save & Connect to establish the connection between your CleanMyMac Business Organization and your Jamf Pro instance.
Check the connection status to make sure the integration is set up correctly.
Once the integration is configured, devices from your Jamf Pro instance will sync with your CleanMyMac Business Organization—in the Admin Dashboard, go to Devices and check the MDM Status column or filter devices by MDM Status to identify Jamf-managed devices.
You can also view the Jamf profiles for each synced device—open the device details and go to the Jamf Profiles tab.
