Check charging status
(Updated: )CleanMyMac provides a quick overview of battery status, along with detailed charging information and cycle statistics. Use the Battery monitor to check the current charging state, remaining time, charge level, and battery cycle count.
Charging info
Open the CleanMyMac Menu and check the Battery monitor for a quick overview. It shows whether the battery is charging or discharging, the estimated time remaining, and the current charge level.
For more details, click the Battery monitor in the Menu. Click it again to hide the details. To close the Menu, click anywhere outside it, such as your desktop or another app.
Detailed charging statistics
To view detailed charging statistics, open the CleanMyMac Menu and click Battery.
The segmented chart at the top shows the current battery level at a glance. On the right, you can check whether the battery is charging or discharging and view the current cycle count.
Charge cycles
The Cycles count shows two values:
- The number of charge cycles completed by the battery
- The maximum cycle count specified for the MacBook model
A charge cycle is completed when you've used an amount of battery power equivalent to the battery's full capacity. It doesn't necessarily happen in a single discharge and may take several days or multiple charging sessions.
The cycle count can help assess battery age and determine when its capacity may have significantly declined. MacBook batteries are designed to retain up to 80% of their original capacity at the maximum cycle count.
