Upgrade from CleanMyMac X

If you're currently using CleanMyMac X, you can easily upgrade to the new CleanMyMac to access all its new features and tools.

To fully enjoy everything new CleanMyMac has to offer, you need macOS Big Sur 11 or later and a minimum screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels.

See the upgrade details for:

• Mac App Store users

• Setapp users

• MacPaw Store users

For Mac App Store users

If you purchased CleanMyMac X from the Mac App Store, the app will update automatically:

• If you have a subscription: You'll receive all new CleanMyMac features immediately at no additional cost.

• If you have a one-time purchase: You'll be able to use the latest CleanMyMac version, but some features (for example, the My Clutter module) may not be available – you can unlock them by purchasing at any time.

For Setapp users

If you use CleanMyMac X as part of your Setapp subscription, you receive a free upgrade to the latest CleanMyMac.

For MacPaw Store users

If you purchased CleanMyMac X from the MacPaw Store, you can upgrade as follows:

• If you have a subscription: You can switch to subscription plan for the new CleanMyMac at no extra cost.

  Your CleanMyMac X license will be deactivated, and you'll be able to use only the latest CleanMyMac.

• If you have a one-time purchase: You can choose to upgrade to a subscription plan or a one-time purchase of the new CleanMyMac with up to 50% discount.

  You'll get the latest CleanMyMac and can continue using CleanMyMac X – both licenses will be active.

The upgrade process varies slightly depending on whether you have or don't have a MacPaw account.

Go to the CleanMyMac upgrade page and follow these steps:

If you have a MacPaw account, sign in to your account and follow the instructions to upgrade.

If you don't have a MacPaw account, create one and upgrade:

1. Enter the email address associated with your license – the one you used to purchase the app – then click Next to verify.

   We'll send a verification code to the email you provided.

2. Enter the verification code from the email, then click Next.

3. Create a password for your account, then click Next.

4. Enter your name, then click Create Account to complete the registration.

   Great! You now have a MacPaw account to access and manage all your purchases.

5. Click Upgrade My Plan and follow instructions to upgrade.
