Review and organize open tabs
(Updated: )When dozens of tabs are open across several windows, finding one page — or the one that slows your Mac down — means clicking through all of them.
Browser Care lists every open tab in one place, along with how many Mac resources each one uses. You can review the tabs, search for a specific one, and sort or group the list.
Review all open tabs
To review your tabs, click All Tabs in Browser Care. The number next to All Tabs shows the total number of tabs open across all windows of your current Chrome profile.
Each row in the list shows:
The tab name and its icon.
The domain the tab belongs to and how long the tab has been open.
Memory — how much Mac memory the tab uses. The values update every three seconds.
By default, the tabs that use the most memory are at the top of the list.
Search for a tab
To find a tab quickly, type part of its name or web address in the search field. The list narrows down as you type.
If nothing matches, Browser Care shows "No tabs found" and suggests trying a different search.
To clear the search, click Clear (
) in the field.
Sort and group tabs
To change how tabs are listed:
Next to the search field, click Sort (
).Choose how to sort or group tabs:
Option What it does Resource Usage Lists tabs from the most to the least demanding, based on memory use. This is the default option. Open Time Lists tabs by how long they've been open. The Memory column is replaced with the Open For column. Domain Groups tabs by domain. Each group shows the domain and the number of tabs in it. Window Groups tabs by Chrome window. The window you're using is shown first. Each group shows the window number and the number of tabs in it.
Pause or close tabs
When you find tabs that use too many Mac resources, you can act on them right from the list:
Pause a tab to free up memory and processor power. You can resume it later.
Close a tab, or all tabs in a group, to remove them from Chrome.
