Review disk space breakdown
(Updated: )After checking available disk space, the next question is often what's using it. CleanMyMac provides a detailed disk space breakdown that helps identify which file types occupy storage on your Mac.
CleanMyMac monitors only the disk or partition where macOS is installed.
To view the breakdown, open the CleanMyMac Menu and click the disk monitor. The detailed menu shows how much storage space is used by different file categories and how much space remains available.
To highlight a category on the chart, move the pointer over a category name on the right, such as Documents or Movies.
To start a quick cleanup, move the pointer to the center of the chart, then click Run Smart Care.
The following categories appear in the disk space breakdown.
