Get started with email cleanup

CleanMyMac helps you clear inbox clutter — remove emails, archive them, or unsubscribe from unwanted senders. Using Email Cleanup — a CleanMyMac tool that organizes your emails into categories — you can review and clean your emails one by one or in bulk.

CleanMyMac doesn't read your emails — it scans your inbox and analyzes email metadata, not your message content.

To get started with email cleanup:

1. Connect your email account to CleanMyMac.

   Note

   Only Gmail is supported for now.

2. Click My Tools in the sidebar.

3. In Email Cleanup, choose an email account, then click Scan.

   

   CleanMyMac scans your inbox and shows the results organized by category.

4. Select a category to review and act on your emails.

   • Smart Cleanup — Review cleanup suggestions for all categories and act on them.

   • Newsletters & Promotions — Remove promotional emails and newsletters, or unsubscribe from them where available.

   • Subscriptions — Unsubscribe from mailing lists you no longer read.

   • Spam — Clear out emails already marked as spam.

   • Drafts — Delete unfinished or unused drafts you no longer need.

   • Senders — Browse all senders and clean up emails you no longer need.
